I often come across Coach bags, both vintage and newer, in my thrifting and bargaining travels. Most of the time it’s fairly easy to find out the model name of the bag by using the last numbers on the interior serial along with the search word, “Coach.” But sometimes, as with older bags, I can get nearly stumped.
Especially if they’re rarer and harder to find. Such was the case with the above bag. I could not find the “5048” number on the internet for the life of me. And then I came across a website that helped me decipher what make of bag it really was. By using the following tricks, I figured out that it was made in 1991, and so when I Googled “Coach 1991,” ta-dah, there it was, a Coach Binocular bag.
Here are the clues given by: The serial number can be decoded on any Coach bag made from 1994 on. The first letter is the month, in order from A for January, all the way through M for December, skipping I for clarity because I was too easy to mistake for 1. The second number is the year the bag was made, 4 for 1994, 3 for 2003, and 04 for 2004, with double numbers being used for every year after 2004.
The third or fourth number in the creed is the factory designation number. I don’t think Coach has ever released a list of these numbers and what they stand for to the public.
Notice that underneath the word Coach, it says “LEATHERWARE” in tiny block letters. The tag from this bag will also say “LEATHERWARE” underneath. This bag dates anytime prior to 1994, and after the implementation of the creed stamp in the 1970’s. If you go to the website you can see some examples to help you practice deciphering them better.

Look at the 'CC' pattern. Bags with the signature C design follow a very set arrangement. For example, both Cs should be horizontal, facing each other, and touching.
They should also start in the center of the front panel on the bag, and be structured to where you could cut the bag in half down the middle and have matching patterns on each side. There should also be no breaks in the pattern, even at the seams and pockets. Bags with the 'C' pattern are usually the ones that are faked, so be sure to inspect the bag carefully.

There shouldn’t just be Cs all over the place. Also make sure the Cs are actually Cs and not Gs. From a distance, the difference may not be noticeable.
Look for labels. Labels are commonly found on the hardware, outside of the bag, and on the inside of the bag.
16-bit apps are supported on a 32-bit Windows OS, but not supported on a 64-bit Windows OS. Arcview gis 3.3 windows 7 64 bit. If you are working with a 32-bit version of XP, Vista or 7, just run the ArcView 3.x installer. I say *should* because I have not actually tried it on all versions. The ArcView 3.x installer is a 16-bit app. It *should* work on all versions of XP, Vista and 7.

If there isn’t a leather patch, the serial number for the bag should at least be stamped on the inside, not printed. Keep in mind that some Coach bags like the clutch, swingpack, and mini will not have a serial number.
Bags from the 1960s will also not have a serial number, and bags from the 1970s and 1980s will have a serial number with only numbers, not letters and numbers like current bags. A few Coach bags (such as those in the Legacy series) will have their serial numbers stamped and inked in a gold-tone ink. If the number is only inked, that's a red flag.
