Burial debuted in May 2005 with the release of his debut extended play South London Boroughs on the label. His followed in May 2006 and was praised by music critics for its unique incorporation of, and styles. Following the releases of the extended plays Distant Lights (2006) and (2007), Burial released his second studio album in November 2007 to critical acclaim. It peaked at number 58 on the and at number 57 on the chart for the Belgian region of Flanders. Untrue later received nominations for the and the, with the album experiencing a 1004% sales increase in the week following the Mercury Prize awards ceremony.

Following the release of Untrue, Burial issued several collaborative singles with other artists—' / ' with producer, ' / ' with Four Tet and musician, and ' / ' with group —and performed production work on several songs for British singer 's (2011), as well as Kode9 and The Spaceape's 2008 track 'Konfusion Dub'. In March 2011, Burial released the extended play; followed in February 2012. A single compilation of the two extended plays was released in February 2012. Burial has since released several succeeding EPs, including (2012), (2013), (2016) and (2017).

If Burial’s `Untrue’ dominated 2007’s end of year critics charts then it’s odds on `Diary Of An Afro Warrior’ will do the same in 2008. ‘Night’, the underground smash single lifted from the album has literally had ravers from countless club scenes, DJs and grandparents whistling and humming itsinfectious melody for months now.

In addition to becoming the first dubstep record to be play listed on BBC Radio 1. ‘Night’ represented Benga’s tipping point for many DJ’s and music lovers across the globe, including Gilles Peterson, Ricardo Villalobos, Pete Tong, Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Herve, Shy FX and many others regardless of genre.
